The Honda Accord receives a visit from Santa Claus for 2021 when it is eligible to a series of small changes that will make it even more attractive to buyers. This update is taking place on several levels. Let's see what it looks like.
1 - Aesthetic improvements
Initially, each version of the 2021 Accord will benefit from a wider, redesigned grille. It adds a touch of refinement to the model but will mainly serve to better integrate the radar unit of the Honda Sensing safety system. New LED headlights and daytime running lights, as well as LED low beam headlights, are also added for improved visibility. And with the EX-L and Touring versions, new alloy wheels will also be noticeable. The Accord will also be available in a new colour, Sonic Grey Pearl.
2 - Interior improvements
On board, we also have changes. Most notably, for each model, it will now be possible to connect wirelessly to use the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto applications. Also, on each variant, Honda has moved the USB ports forward to make them easier to access. Each model will also take advantage of the new feature, the rear seat alert.
Finally, on the more upscale versions, the Accord features a new low-speed brake control system.
3 - New version
For 2021 will see a new version, exclusive to Canada, make its debut. The SE model replaces the LX variant and adds value to the family's entry-level model. The newcomer benefits from 19-inch wheels, LED headlights and fog lights, a trunk deflector, chrome exhaust tips and a chrome grille. Inside, there's a leatherette-cloth upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a driver's seat with 12 power adjustments for an optimal driving position.
4 - Hybrid version
With the "green" version of the model, Honda's two-engine hybrid system benefits from improvements that make its acceleration response more linear and immediate. Every effort has been made to provide the driver with increased flexibility. As a result, the Accord Hybrid will also be able to travel longer distances in electric-only mode. The regenerative braking feel has also been improved to provide a more natural response.
5 - Other improvements
In addition, improvements are also being made to gas engines, including adjustments that will also make the response to acceleration faster and more linear. Also, a start/stop device has been added.
Finally, adjustments to safety features make the offering even more comprehensive. For example, with the Touring versions (regular and hybrid), the low-speed braking control system will warn the driver if objects are detected during parking maneuvers, among other things. If the driver does not react, the system will stop the car to avoid an impact.
The 2021 Honda Accord has just arrived at the dealership. Take the time to come and discover it.
