Pricing for the new 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback is now available. Honda Canada shared the prices with us about 10 days before the model arrives in dealerships on October 1.

The offer will start at $28,000 with the LX version. To this price, you have to add the shipping and preparation fees of $1700; they are the same for each model. The model will benefit from a 2-liter 4-cylinder engine, a mill offering 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque. The addition of the base powertrain to the 5-door version allows the model to be offered at a lower price than the base variant of the old Civic hatchback.

In the mid-range, we'll find the Sport model at $31,500. The same $1,700 fee is added for shipping and preparation. This time, a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine takes over under the hood with 180 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. This same engine will power the Sport Touring model, which retails for $35,000 before the aforementioned fees.

What's doubly interesting about each Civic hatchback is that it can be delivered with a six-speed manual transmission, in addition to the continuously variable transmission (CVT). Double, yes, because there's no extra charge for either.

And if you're wondering about the equipment, Honda has thought of everyone. Those who want a more affordable Civic hatchback aren't left out. The list of amenities includes heated front seats, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto apps, push-button start, as well as LED headlights and 60-40 folding seats in the back.

With the Sport model, 18-inch wheels, black accents, and chrome exhaust tips add a racy touch to the model, which also benefits from an eight-speaker audio system, sport seats unique to this version, a sport pedal set, and a heated steering wheel.

At the top of the hierarchy, the Touring model offers the ultimate in features such as a digital display screen in the instrument cluster, a nine-inch (instead of seven-inch) screen for the multimedia system, a Bose audio system, navigation, LED fog lights, as well as front and rear parking sensors.

On October 1, the new Civic hatchback arrives; be sure not to miss it.
